Pink Pumpkins

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And the Leesburg downtown business association has decided that we're all going to promote that, and collect donations etc.

And of course October is a big month for other reasons in retail. So what's the solution? Pink Pumpkins. I kid you not. Pink pumpkins in our window. With pink coinbelts for bellydancers, and pink dreamcatchers and of course mermaids and fairies...

Pink pumpkins.

My four-year old granddaughter has dreams of a world where everything is pink. She is begging her mother to repaint her lavendar room in pale pink. It's a princess color, you know. Too bad she's in California; she'd be in heaven with pink pumpkins. I think, though, that we'd skip the belly dancer gear.
